This module contributes to the development of knowledge and understanding of the principles of pain management, enabling students to study pain management specifically in people with long-term conditions. It enables students to critically analyse the impact of chronic pain on a person’s quality of life, and the social and economic impacts of chronic pain. The module supports students in critically evaluating the evidence for pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, using a range of evidence-based sources to construct courses of action.

Booking for modules at this level closes 30 days before the start date, to allow time to organise academic registration.
To ensure you have the correct qualifications stipulated by the University to commence the Level 7 module, once your application is received, a member of our education team will contact you within 5 working days.
This course is accredited by the University of Hertfordshire. After purchasing your place from Education for Health, your course information will include the requirement to register for the activity with the University of Hertfordshire before the start date. Failure to do this will result in you not being able to start the course. In this instance our normal Terms & Conditions will apply.
The university registration end date is set at 6 weeks before the start date of the module. Late applications can still be processed and will be considered on an individual basis. Frailty is a distinct health state associated with reduced function that develops as part of the ageing process, and is therefore viewed as a long-term condition. This module supports students in providing preventative and individualised care for people with frailty, enhancing their knowledge in relation to current treatment, management, and risk avoidance. This module equips healthcare professionals with the critical skills required for the appropriate management of non-invasive ventilation and treatment of the patients who receive it. It explores the complex nature of respiratory failure and management and builds on students’ existing knowledge and experience of non-invasive ventilation.
