Type 2 diabetes currently affects 4.7 million people in the UK, and the prediction is that this will rise to 5.5 million by 2030. The UK also has the fifth highest incidence of Type 1 diabetes in children.  

Educating people about the prevention of Type 2 diabetes and the complications of diabetes such as peripheral neuropathy and retinopathy play a critical role in supporting people to live healthier lives.
