Study Type Supported online learning Duration 3 months Level Level 7 (postgraduate) Start Date Various The Leadership for Quality Improvement in Long Term Conditions Level 7 module has been designed to further the student’s leadership skills by demonstrating personal qualities such as self-awareness, managing self and others, reflective practice, influencing skills and overcoming difficult situations.
Within the module students will consider managing services including planning, implementing policy, patient and carer involvement and empowerment to self-manage, service redesign, ‘lean’ methodology, value stream mapping and managing risk.

Students will advance their knowledge and understanding of the assessment process to consider the complex interrelationships between patient and practitioner and to evaluate the appropriate use of investigations and clinical examination, enabling them to work through the diagnostic process systematically, using reasoned deduction.

Respiratory Diagnostics Level 7 module
Study Type Supported online learning Duration 6 months Level Level 7 (postgraduate) Start Date Various Clinical investigations are important to enable clinicians to help confirm or rule out suspected diagnosis. Common investigations performed in primary or secondary care include spirometry, PEF monitoring, arterial and capillary blood gas analysis, x-ray, allergy testing and a variety of other tests.
The Respiratory Diagnostics Level 7 module, validated by the University of Hertfordshire, will address the principles underpinning a number of respiratory investigations and will seek to provide studies with a critical view of the accuracy and validity of the tests, by consideration of the concepts of sensitivity and specificity.
