Increase your knowledge and know-how

This Essentials of COPD programme is designed for practitioners who have recently begun to, or are preparing to, support patients with COPD. This may include newly qualified nursing staff, HCAs and HCSWs, social care staff, or experienced healthcare professionals who have been recently deployed in COPD.

Led by a highly qualified frontline clinician, these interactive sessions will enable you to improve your clinical practice by:

  • Discussing and reviewing best practice in COPD
  • Reviewing current guidelines around diagnosing COPD
  • Exploring a range of treatment pathways and how they contribute to a person-centred care approach
  • Reflecting on local practice

This course involves two 2-hour webinars delivered six weeks apart. Following the first session, learners are asked to explore how they will apply their learning in practice and evaluate these outcomes in session 2.

"test quote for checking"

  • Recognise the symptoms of COPD
  • Explain the impact of COPD on an individual’s quality of life
  • Explain the key diagnostic tools used in COPD
  • Explain a range of pharmacological (medicine-based) and non-pharmacological (lifestyle-based) pathways used in COPD
  • Apply your learning to ‘real life’ case studies

Buying for someone else?

You need to purchase an Essentials Workshop Learning Licence which you can then allocate to your learner/s.

I want to book my practice nurse onto this Essentials Workshop – what should I do?

If you are buying for someone else then for your example, you should purchase an Essentials Workshop Learning Licence – you are then issued with a code which you pass to the learner to book themselves onto the next suitable date.

I need to buy for at least ten people.

We have extra support for purchasers buying learning licences at this volume, including a dedicated Partnership Manager who can help with licence usage reports, learner progress on courses and completion data. This allows you to easily demonstrate a return on your investment. We also have discounts available when bulk buying – talk to the team on [email protected] to find out more.
