Spirometry extensions

During a period of study, we know that you may encounter significant and unexpected personal difficulties that impact your ability to study or complete your online learning. These are referred to as exceptional circumstances.

Exceptional circumstances are circumstances that are unforeseen and/or unpreventable and have had a detrimental effect on your ability to study and complete your online learning. These events are over and above the course of everyday life and normally outside of your control.

It is your responsibility to let us know as soon as possible if you think you may have exceptional circumstances and require an extension. Applications for an extension under exceptional circumstances must be supported by evidence documenting these circumstances.

To submit an application for an extension:

You must submit your application before the end of your current course expiry date. Applications received after this deadline cannot be considered.

Requests for extensions will be reviewed once a week at Education for Health’s Academic Review Panel. You’ll receive a response to your submission within five working days with notification whether your request has been approved, and information about how to continue to access your e-learning material. If your application is approved, you will be provided with a licence to book onto the extended version of your online learning; this licence must be used within three months of its issuance.

Please note that you are only able to request one extension to your online learning.
