A 90-minute session exploring hypertension best practice, and ‘ask the expert’ opportunity

Hypertension has been highlighted in the Core20PLUS5 approach as one the key clinical areas for accelerated improvement, and our 90-minute masterclass will explore how to effectively diagnose and support patients with hypertension. Whether you are in a new role and want to refine your blood pressure measuring technique, or you are a more experienced clinician who has questions about challenging cases, this CPD-accredited workshop is for you.

Led by an experienced clinical specialist and facilitator, the Hypertension Masterclass will cover the following content:
This session will highlight the relationship between health inequalities and effective hypertension case-finding and management, so you are encouraged to think about your local practice population as you listen. You will then have the opportunity to ask questions of our expert facilitator – please do come prepared with any specific questions or issues you would like to discuss.
Course Details
The Masterclass will last 90 minutes in total, with dedicated time for questions at the end.
Delivered via Microsoft Teams, the session will begin with a presentation from our expert clinical facilitator and offer opportunities for interactive discussion.
After attending this masterclass, you will:
• Understand what hypertension is, and how to diagnose it
• Understand who is affected by hypertension and how this contributes to health inequalities
• Know how to take an accurate blood pressure measurement using correct technique
• Be aware of a range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options
• Know how to signpost patients who are at risk of hypertension to relevant information, advice, and guidance
Attendance at this masterclass equates to 90 minutes of CPD time. Certificates will be issued 2-4 weeks after the event.
