Course Outcomes:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of ILD and classify the major subtypes based on clinical and radiographic characteristics.
  • Recognise symptoms of ILD and select appropriate diagnostic techniques, including imaging and pulmonary function tests.
  • Apply the current infection prevention and control procedures to reduce the risk of cross infection and contamination.
  • Evaluate effective pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies to support quality of life for ILD patients.
  • Identify high-resolution CT and histopathologic findings for different ILD sub-types.
  • Communicate prognosis and lifestyle recommendations effectively and sensitively.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide joined-up care across primary, secondary, and tertiary services.
