Managing Malnutrition in COPD

5th November 2020

A practical guide has been released to support healthcare professionals in the nutritional management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) including the identification and management of malnutrition.

Written and agreed by a multi-professional panel with expertise and an interest in malnutrition and COPD, including Education for Health, the document was released today.

Ann Saxon, Education for Health Director of Learning Design and Quality said: “Education for Health was happy to be part of the creation of this important practical guide and accompanying patient leaflets.

“They are based on clinical evidence, clinical experience and accepted best practice; therefore we would encourage practitioners to use them in their daily practice. A great resource to support patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and the complexity of managing malnutrition.”
