Best Practice 2023

12th October 2023

We’re thrilled to be presenting again at the Best Practice 2023 Show. We’ll be sharing our knowledge on workforce development and preparing for the Nursing Associate role.

Best Practice is taking place on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 October 2023, at the NEC, Birmingham.

Best Practice 2023 Key themes

This year’s event has four key focuses:

As always, at Education for Health, we’re keen to support health and care professionals through sharing knowledge and insight. Therefore, we’re presenting on three topics over the two day Best Practice 2023 show.

Best Practice 2023 Show: our presentations

Workforce Development and Asthma Outcomes

Firstly, our Chief Executive, Dr Linda Edwards, and our Assistant Director – Clinical Learning, Preeti Minhas, explored improving asthma outcomes through workforce development and the nuanced differences between leadership and management.

Dr Linda Edwards said, ‘we had an excellent day at Best Practice, discussing the best ways to support people juggling the many priorities of the NHS’.

Preeti Minhas commented, ‘it was great to have seen so many people at the talks yesterday; and it’s really highlighted that the work we’re doing through CPD and higher education courses at Education for Health can support many people.’

Preparing for the Nursing Associate Role

Our third, and final presentation, takes place on Thursday 12 October at 2.30pm. Come join us in the Best Practice Nursing Theatre, where our Head of Professional Development and Training, Laura Hyland, and our Associate, Jane Bennett, will be discussing how to prepare for the Nursing Associate role. The talk will cover topics such as:

  1. Understanding how the registered nursing associate role looks in general practice.
  2. Identifying and supporting the prospective trainee nursing associate
  3. Ensuring the wider practice team understands the importance of this role.
