Update your skills and share best practice

This one-day workshop explores national guidelines and best practice in Asthma and COPD.  Applicants must be a UK healthcare professional and referred by a Chiesi Representative.

This interactive CPD-accredited workshop is designed for health and care professionals who support, or will be supporting, patients with asthma and COPD. An understanding of respiratory anatomy and physiology will be advantageous, but you do not need to have specialist knowledge of either asthma or COPD management to undertake this course.

Led by an experienced clinical specialist and facilitator, this highly interactive workshop will enable you to update your clinical practice by:

  • Discussing and reviewing best practice models
  • Reviewing current guidelines around diagnosing and managing asthma and COPD
  • Evaluating pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment pathways
  • Applying knowledge and understanding to ‘real life’ case studies
  • Sharing good practice examples with peers

Completion of the course equates to 8 hours of CPD. Participants will receive an electronic certificate of attendance after the workshop.

This is a face-to-face workshop, delivered in various locations across England. The workshop combines whole group discussions, small group activities, and individual action planning to enable participants to identify strategies to enhance their local practice. These sessions are designed to be highly interactive, tailored to the specific needs of the individuals and group, with opportunities to discuss current practice and apply learning to a variety of complex case studies.

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
• Identify the national guidelines involved in the management and treatment of asthma
• Identify the national guidelines involved in the management and treatment of COPD
• Identify the instruments used in asthma and COPD diagnosis and know how to use these
• Identify treatment options used in the management of asthma and COPD
• Apply these treatment pathways to patient scenarios to deliver person centred outcomes
Familiarisation with national guidance along with any local formularies and guidelines will be an asset.
