RCN Foundation launches #hereforlife campaign

9th May 2022

To celebrate International Nurses Day on Thursday 12 May 2022, alongside last week’s International Day of the Midwife, the RCN Foundation is launching the #hereforelife campaign celebrating nurses and midwives.

#hereforlife campaign

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the breadth, depth and diversity of the nursing and midwifery professions, their impact on individual patients and on wider society.

How to get involved

Nurses and Midwives:

The RCN Foundation is asking registered nurses and midwives working in the UK and Ireland to post a story on social media about their role, using the hashtag #hereforlife. This will increase understanding of the professionalism, knowledge, competence and skill that nurses and midwives use every day to support life, at every stage, and in a range of clinical and non-clinical settings.

Members of the public:

Members of the public can also get involved by sharing their stories on social media of moments when a nurse or midwife has supported them. These stories will be viewable to anyone searching the #hereforlife hashtag, and will create a timeline full of inspiring and memorable posts about nursing and midwifery.
