NEW professional General Practice Nursing course
2nd June 2016
In recognition of the growing importance of the role of General Practice Nurses (GPNs), we have developed a new Professional Clinical Practice course designed specifically to support newly appointed GPNs and those who have recently moved from secondary to primary care.
The course, launching this autumn, will develop the specialist knowledge, skills and competencies required to work effectively in a primary care setting. Our tried and tested blended learning approach of online and face-to-face training will enable practitioners to combine work and professional development, applying what they have learnt in their everyday practice.
At a time when 33% of GPNs* are due to retire in the next four years and recruitment to primary care is a high priority for the NHS across the country, these courses will be critical in supporting nurses of the future to develop their knowledge and clinical skills. We have designed a range of flexible options to suit nurses with a variety of academic backgrounds:
- Professional Clinical Practice for General Practice Nursing Level 6 module
Fully validated with 60 CATS points at Level 6 that you could use towards a degree
- Professional Clinical Practice for General Practice Nursing Graduate Certificate
Fully validated with 60 CATS points at Level 6 and a Graduate Certificate
- Professional Clinical Practice for General Practice Nursing Course
Course with competencies but no academic accreditation
