Dr Linda Edwards joins Education for Health as its new Chief Executive
4th September 2017
Dr Linda Edwards has joined Education for Health as its new Chief Executive.
She joined the charity on 1 September, taking over the leadership from Monica Fletcher OBE who was Chief Executive for 16 years.
Linda said she was excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
“I am delighted to have become the new Chief Executive of Education for Health,” she said. “My priority over the coming weeks is to get a real feel for the organisation. I want to do this by meeting with as many people as possible – both internally and externally.
“I am eager to understand what we need to do to enable the charity to grow and thrive in the current health economy so that we can best support the increasing number of people who are living with long term conditions to enable them to lead fulfilling lives.
“I believe partnership working is critical to ensuring organisational success. I’m particularly looking forward meeting and further developing relationships with our much-valued partners while seeking out new opportunities for collaborative working.”
Linda has held a number of clinical and senior management positions in the NHS and charitable sector and has a wealth of experience in improving outcomes for people with diabetes, respiratory disease and other long term conditions.
Education for Health, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary, works to improve the lives of people with long term conditions. Through its education, advocacy, influencing and research activities, the charity supports healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible care for patients.
