I have been in post at Education for Health for six months now and am really getting into my stride! There is much to do in ensuring that we offer the education, training and support services that you need to continue to provide excellent health care.

The increasing numbers of people with multiple long term conditions presents us all with a challenge. However, we are determined to help you crack this in the best ways possible.

We are broadening our portfolio and creating more flexible ways to enable you to access the types of programmes you need. I know that both time and resources are tight and that you probably feel on occasion, that there is barely time to breathe. I have been there myself more times than I care to remember.

So, in order to help we are looking to provide more bespoke local programmes based on what you have identified as needing locally. We are also providing more opportunities for eLearning and combining different long term conditions programmes to enable you to maximise your learning time. Some CCGs have asked us for example to combine COPD and Asthma, others Diabetes and Obesity and so forth. We are happy to discuss options with you to align with local needs.

For more information on this please contact the NHS Partnerships Manager for your area who will be very happy to help.

I am also very keen that we create strategic relationships with you, our clients. But what do I mean by this? A strategic relationship for me is one built and created over time; it means we understand your local situation, the trends in demographics and services provided. This then enables us to work with you to create solutions to the challenges you face.

By doing this we can help and support you in flexible and timely ways. I will be delighted to hear from you with any thoughts you may have about anything mentioned above, or any ideas not mentioned above that you think would be helpful. Please do contact me directly with any thoughts you may have.
