ACD of Hypertension
Level: Workshop
Duration: 1 Day
High blood pressure is a major cause of heart disease and strokes, but it is also the cause of and/or the result of kidney disease. The link between chronic kidney disease and hypertension is often overlooked and the importance of blood pressure control as a way of protecting the kidneys may be underestimated.
The ACD (Ace Inhibitors, Calcium Channel Blockers, Diuretics) treatment algorithm from the NICE guidelines and QOF both underline the importance of early detection and effective management of hypertension and CKD in order to protect health in the long term.
This one day workshop is suitable for nurses or other clinicians who come into contact with people who have hypertension or chronic kidney disease.
Delivery method: Interactive Study Day
Assessment method: No assessment - informal lectures and interactive sessions
