This interactive one day work-shop is suitable for all health professionals who are involved in the care of patients with tobacco dependence and would like to gain some basic skills which will improve their contribution to smoking cessation . They will learn practical management tips and up to date information about why it is important for people to give up, how effective cessation strategies are and how we can we increase success. Content includes ensuring effective consultations, development of practical skills, helping patients prepare for change, identifying stages in the cycle of change, dealing with difficult questions, realistic and relevant goal setting, pharmacological Intervention and choosing the right product with the use of interactive case studies
