Asthma
Level: Degree Module (L6)
Credits: 30
Duration: 6 months
Notional study time: 300 hours (including time to study learning materials, attend study days and complete assignment)
This brand new interactive module is designed for healthcare professionals who wish to develop their skills and expertise in Asthma management to improve the care of those patients in both the primary and secondary care settings. It is recognised that despite a proliferation of both national and international guidelines and a wide range of evidence based interventions, asthma remains poorly managed with unacceptable morbidity and avoidable mortality. In addition to providing the in-depth knowledge and practical skills required to set up and run an asthma clinic, this course encourages a broader viewpoint, looking more critically and in greater depth at many of the specific issues which contribute to lung health and quality of life and influencing service delivery.
