Acting upon research

Research shows that some nurses are still providing care to patients when they have not been appropriately trained and assessed1. Part of our response to this has been to create a practical toolkit which enables nurses to make a case for obtaining appropriate training.

Education for Health's How to Make Your Case for Education and Training Toolkit enables any health professional to demonstrate clearly how their chosen education will contribute to their organisation's key performance targets and lead to improvements in patient care and quality of life.

These toolkits provided on a CD Rom, cover each disease area and are free of charge from our stand at forthcoming events.

Developing research skills

Education for Health provides evidence based practice modules to develop research skills at two different levels:

  • Level 5: To locate and use appropriate research evidence to underpin clinical decision making and improve patient care.

  • Level 6: To formulate research questions in response to areas of clinical uncertainty and to find appropriate research evidence; to utilize evidence-based healthcare to develop services and systems of care to improve patient outcomes.
