The Regional Clinical Leads will support the roll out of the COPD National Strategy over the next three years and lead on developing a network for respiratory disease across their SHAs.

Lianne Jongepeir will be Regional Lead for North East Essex, June Roberts (Education for Health Trainer) will be Regional Lead for the North West (Salford) and Sandy Walmsley (Education for Health Trainer) will be Regional Lead for the West Midlands.

“My MSc gave me the confidence along with the credibility to apply for this role. If you had told me 4 years ago when I started my MSc that I would be where I am today I would never have believed you” Sandy Walmsley told Monica Fletcher, Chief Executive at Education for Health.

“We are thrilled to hear about these appointments, which reinforces our philosophy of team working. We are extremely proud of all our Graduates, but to see three of our alumni demonstrating such a high level of leadership and professional autonomy, skills that we aim to develop during the programme, is truly inspiring. This is a fantastic opportunity for all those appointed to contribute to the development of COPD services and demonstrate strategic clinical leadership within the NHS” said Monica Fletcher, Chief Executive at Education for Health.

We are equally please that Jane Scullion, a respiratory Nurse Consultant from Leicester and long time supporter of Education for Health, has also been appointed by the East Midlands SHA, demonstrating the important role that nurses have in COPD care.
